Personal Greetings
Romans 16I commend to y’all our sister Phoebe, who is a deacon of the assembly that is at Cenchreae, that y’all receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and that y’all assist her in whatever matter she may need from y’all, for she also has been a guardian of many, including me.
Y’all greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my life. Not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the ethnic groups. Y’all greet the church that is in their house. Y’all greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first fruits of Achaia to Christ. Y’all greet Mary, who labored much for us. Y’all greet Andronicus and Junia, my relatives and fellow prisoners, who are notable among the apostles, who were also in Christ before me. Y’all greet Amplias, my beloved in the Lord. Y’all greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved. Y’all greet Apelles, the approved in Christ. Y’all greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus. Y’all greet Herodion, my kinsman. Y’all greet those in the household of Narcissus, who are in the Lord. Y’all greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labor in the Lord. Y’all greet Persis, the beloved—she has labored much in the Lord. Y’all greet Rufus, the chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. Y’all greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the siblings who are with them. Y’all greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. Y’all greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet y’all.
Now I beg y’all, siblings, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine that y’all learned. Avoid them. For such people don’t serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly. By their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent. For y’all’s obedience has become known to all, and therefore I rejoice over y’all. But I want y’all to wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under y’all’s feet.
