To the Church in Ephesus
Revelation 2“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven golden lampstands:
I know your works, your toil, and your perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and found them false. You have perseverance, you have endured for the sake of my name, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you: that you left your first love. Therefore, you must remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the works you did at first. Otherwise, I am coming to you, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. But you have this: that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Whoever has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.”
To the Church in Smyrna
“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write:
“Thus says the First and the Last, who was dead and has come to life:
“I know your oppression and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look! The devil is about to throw some of y’all into prison to test y’all, and y’all will have oppression for ten days. You are to be faithful to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Whoever has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers won’t be harmed by the second death.
To the Church in Pergamum
“To the angel of the church in Pergamum write:
“Thus says the one who has a sharp, double-edged sword: “I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. Yet you hold firmly to my name and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among y’all, where Satan dwells. But I have a small number of things against you: you have there some who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat food sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. In the same way, you also have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Therefore, you must repent! Otherwise, I am coming to you soon, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth. Whoever has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give them a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows but the one who receives it.
To the Church in Thyatira
“To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:
“Thus says the Son of God, the one whose eyes are like a fiery flame and whose feet are like burnished bronze:
“I know your works, your love, faith, deacon-work, endurance, and that your recent works are greater than the first. But I have this against you: that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and leads my slaves astray to commit sexual immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she did not want to repent of her sexual immorality. Look! I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into a great oppression, unless they repent from her works. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches will know that I am the one who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of y’all according to y’all’s works. But I say to the rest of y’all in Thyatira, all who don’t have this teaching, who don’t know the so-called deep things of Satan, I am not putting any other burden on y’all, except that y’all hold on to what y’all have until I come. To the one who conquers and keeps my works until the end, I will give authority over the ethnic groups, and that one ‘will shepherd them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots,’+Psa 2:9 just as I have received from my Father, and I will give that one the morning star. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
