Laws for Grain Offerings

Leviticus 2

“‘When anyone presents an offering of a grain offering to YHWH, his offering must be of fine flour. He is to pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it. He will bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests. He is to take his handful of its fine flour, and of its oil, with all its frankincense, and the priest is to burn its memorial on the altar, an food offering, of a pleasant aroma to YHWH. That which is left of the grain offering will be for Aaron and his sons. It is a most holy part of the offerings of YHWH made by fire.

“‘When you present an offering of a grain offering baked in the oven, it must be unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. If your offering is a grain offering made on a griddle, it is to be of unleavened fine flour, mixed with oil. You are to cut it in pieces, and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering. If your offering is a grain offering of the pan, it is to be made of fine flour with oil. You are to bring the grain offering that is made of these things to YHWH. It must be presented to the priest, and he will bring it to the altar. the priest is to take from the grain offering its memorial, and will burn it on the altar, an food offering, of a pleasant aroma to YHWH. That which is left of the grain offering will be for Aaron and his sons. It is a most holy part of the offerings of YHWH made by fire.

“‘No grain offering which y’all present to YHWH is to be made with yeast, for y’all must not burn any yeast or any honey as an offering by fire to YHWH. Y’all may present them to YHWH as an offering of first fruits, but they must not rise up as a pleasant aroma on the altar. Every offering of your grain offering you are to season with salt. You must not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you are to offer salt.

“‘If you offer a grain offering of first fruits to YHWH, you are to offer for the grain offering of your first fruits fresh heads of grain parched with fire and crushed. You are to put oil on it and lay frankincense on it. It is a grain offering. the priest is to burn as its memorial part of its crushed grain and part of its oil, along with all its frankincense. It is a food offering for YHWH.
